Has anyone attempted to sell rolls of Bicentennial halves on ebay or other venues? Just wondering if anyone has tried this and what the experience was. I'm not sure if it would be worth the time or trouble to set aside the '76 halves and advertise them for some modicum over face, or if there would be any takers, but I'm just curious if this has been done before with any success.
Thanks.

??? Seriously? I'd say that ~5-8% of my average box is Bicentenials. They aren't exactly hard to come by.

It's not like the IKE dollars where those are actually a little harder to find.

I can't see why anyone would pay more than 50 cents per bicentennial. Just not that rare. If you can get more though, go for it. :icon_thumleft:

About once a month in the winter time, I attend a toy train swap meet.

There is a guy there that buys 3 rolls of bicentennials from me, plus I pay the admission of $4 for my dad and I. This means I can dump $38 at face, and I don't have to pour it through a coin machine.

He is thrilled, and I am happy to bring him halves!

To the contrary, they are just about the most minted half dollar to date.

But like JRF says, if you think you can find a buyer for them, go for it; and take all you want out of circulation. That's just that many less we'll have to go through.

There was a lot made since they minted them in both 75 and 76. Two years in minting the same year coin.
