The only thing I can find on illi is on a zodiac plaque from ruby lane here:
Mid-Century Modern Carved Travertine Marble Sagittarius Zodiac from industrialblonde on Ruby Lane

In the description it says :
The runner’s back foot is signed illi (hard to read) for the Illi Inc workshop in Olivette, Missouri. Well-known artists/designers Rodney M. Winfield and Eric Herrmann partnered in the company where pieces were crafted by modern artisans, under the direction of Winfield.

Hope this helps

The description sure fits the item and the time period when Scarabs were a hot commodity. Research it well. If it is rare and known, it is a hot commodity today! Mid Century modern collectors are crazy hot now.
