has anybody ever found a 1943 copper penny.i was just wondering as i read the other day they are very rare cause they where all made from steel.

I was very happy to dig the steel cent.tinkb said:Sniffy, the 43 steel cent is very common. They quit using copper in 43 because they needed it for the war. So they made the 1943 pennies (P-D-Ss) out of steel. Now you get a 43 copper, thats a fantastic find.
