Dug this afternoon at an old homesite around a water oak. I think it’s horse tack but could be wrong. Also, I posted a pic a couple of days ago of a Mardi Gras pin, badly worn but came up as brass. Under a jewelers loupe you can make out words “Mardi Gras “ and see the jester in center. When I google “antique Mardi Gras pins” 2 images with similar shape comes up, dated 1899. I by no means consider this conclusive however. So… I dug that harness ring (if that’s what it is) in a hole about 1/2 foot away from where I dug the pin along with some thick, aqua, bubbly bottle glass. Do y’all think that my finds today would give any credence to the age of the pin, possible turn of century? Forgive me as I am really grasping at straws, doing my best not to be annoying lol! Thanks for viewing, any comments/ ridicule welcome. Have IMG_0422.jpeg a great weekend!
