I found this close to a tree in my yard. I tried to find it on the internet but had no luck. I would like to know what it is and the age of the piece. The only marking I could see was d#, no makers name. I would like to clean it up but I do not know what it is made of so I just washed it with dawn dish soap and water. Thanks for your help!

wrong shape for a harmonica. could be from a portable organ. I have one similar to that and it was identified as coming from an organ

I will try to look that up. Maybe someone will also have a link I could go to. I spent hours on the net last night. Thanks

Found this at this link http://www.answers.com/topic/reed-organ

Yes, Dign is correct; it is an organ reed; I was being funny singing the song. Most of them are made of brass.

Gotta love that song! And that was a great quote. I would not think that fast. Good one :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

 Breezie

Here's a pic of an accordion reed; ie. squeeze box
