I found a silver-plated harmonica cover (front plate) in an old dump that appears to have a lot of writing on it. It is in really bad shape and the whole thing is folded in three places, so I can’t make much of it out, but it appears to be German. I want to unfold it, but it is so frail, I fear that it would just shatter if I tried to. From what I can see, it appears to say DENVERDIENSTE on one side and STUTT-GART on the other. There is a man’s face and what appears to be hands holding something round in the middle. It has two dates on it and possibly some under the circles. The dates are 1871 and 1881. Across the bottom, the letters ——hner are visible. Does anybody know what kind of harmonica this was based on the information I have?

It's an M Hohner very nice piece made in Germany, probably early 1900's. Sometimes marked MARINE BAND. If I get a chance I'll post a pic. PS. The model no. is 1896
