Hardstone Celt found June 9 2010

The lone find on June 9 2010. A well made hardstone celt. Found laying completely exposed. Relatively thin, there is some remaining peck marks and a few minor plow strikes. The bit show a lot of wear and some use damage. The celt has a lot of patina covering the entire surface including on the use wear of the bit.

Nice find! Those are extremely rare in southwest Georgia. I was lucky to find one last spring.

I know of only one field that produces celts, and even there they are as scarce as chicken teeth. That is one nice find.
