Nope, it's not gold. I think it's bronze, but I'm not sure.

I did not see all of the possible varieties listed in the Heritage sale, but there are 5 varieties for this style.

Ill 4 was made of copper, so not likely this one.

Ill 5 was made of brass, as Ill 4, plain edge.

Ill 5A was made of silvered brass, as Ill 4, plain edge

Ill 6 was made of brass, as Ill 4, plain edge, thin planchet

Ill 7 was made of brass, as Ill 4, reeded edge, normal planchet

All are 28mm dia., values ranged from $7 to $8 in Fine, to $40 to $60 in Unc in Rulau's 2004 book.
