Happy yet so sad - UPDATED with pics
I had a spot picked out to go detecting today and as soon as I got home from work, I changed clothes and headed out. Within a minute I had a 1918 Wheat, then a 1917, then a V nickel. I pulled a whole tribe of indians, a bushel of wheat, several Vs, a buffalo nickle, and topped it off with 3 ( THREE !!! ) Barber quarters. 1897, 1898, and 1902. There wasn't a clad coin to be found!
So you are probably wondering why I am sad. The Quarters had some BAD, white, corrosion on them. One cleaned up "ok", one looks like crap and I left the third basically as-is. None are key or semi-key dates, but I'm bummed. They had GREAT detail coming out of the ground, but the remaining metal doesn't have much.
All the other coins are soaking in soapy water and I'll see whats there later.
