Found this pair of handle looking things over the weekend about 20 yards apart. One just finished a bath in the e-tank and the other is getting dumped in. But any ideas? Found in a CW skirmish area. Thanks in advance!

I agree with Tony, likely from a galvanized metal wash tub.
No dimensions were given, but this makes the most sense.

Ah sorry guys. They’re about 3 inches long. As I was wiping after taking it out the e-tank, I noticed black on everything, like the way something that’s tarnished leaves black. I rubbed it up with some white diamond metal polish and it shined up nicely.

This is another handle we found in the same area (also in size comparison to the first ones posted). So what we know about the property: There was a homestead there during the CW. Looking at birthdates, marriage dates, and event dates, I’m thinking the homestead was established around the 1830s. The skirmish occurred 1864. Family lived there for I know at least 98 years after the skirmish. I know where the house once stood (unfortunately there’s now a driveway and road). The property we’re hunting encircles a small state park that was established pretty much on the homestead. The man who now owns the property we hunt said that land had been in his family for over 30 years. We are the first people he’s ever let go on it (due to him being an extreme deer hunter and afraid people will poach or mess up stuff). But he’s been friends with my husband for over 30 years and knows him well. So possible this stuff could be from the homestead?

I believe that's a handle to a flat iron.download.jpg

It is a handle for a flat Iron, The iron may be in the same area.

We’re going to the same spot this weekend so I’m definitely looking! I’ll be wearing my briar pants and using a falconry glove bc it’s THINK with briars and thorn bushes. But I’m determined to get in there lol

If the trash can was full, I'd ask my brother to grab the other handle.
If the ice chest was full, I'd ask my brother to grab the other handle.
If the wash tub was full, we'd rush off leaving our sisters to hang it themselves.
