This handle(?) was found in the front yard of a farm house dating to at least 1869 and where a log cabin stood before. It measures 4” long x 1 3/8” wide x 3” tall. It has internal threads and there may have been a set screw as indicated. And there is a number (0530?) on the collar.

Other artifacts found nearby include fragments of an iron cauldron, pieces of a kerosene lamp, a Tootsie toy tank, a 1957 W Uncle Sam play nickel, a Alabama State Luxury Tax token, and coins ranging from 1920-1951.
