I had a thought at one time that it may have went to a gun, but I am not sure. This thing is solid and heavy. I'm not sure, but is defenitly a possability. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't think it is a handle from a toy gun because all handles similar to that were on Cast Iron cap guns. Actually it looks like it is made out of lead to me, and it seems I can see some script on the top. We need a closer/clearer pic of that area. I think Tony is in the right ball park, although it resembles more of a lead hot/cold handle on an antique pedestal sink. Breezie

I wasn't talking about a modern cap gun ::) I was refering to toy guns made in the 1800s, these had lead handles.

I wasn't talking about modern cap guns either. Cap Guns made in the 1800's were Cast Iron. I've never seen one made from lead, but would love to see a pic of the one. Is the one you have lead? Breezie

Does it say "SAW"? Maybe it is an old handle to a coping saw. Breezie

Oh, you mean the PEWTER cap gun, I gotcha now. I realize pewter is a lead alloy, but I was thinking pure lead, not pewter. Thanks, Breezie

That's the one  they often fired matchsticks as well and were sold in London by AW Gamage, but I'm not sure it is actually a gun handle, there's now signs of were the barrel would have been so :dontknow:

I don't know about green checking it yet - it seems it might be a little slim to be the handle of a toy pistol - personally I'm thinking flatware of sorts :dontknow:
