Ok I need help I think this is a cut piece of Spanish silver. I can’t find an example with the same crown. Is there any way to date this?

I do not think it has been cut. It depends on the weight, but looks like a Mexico City 2 Reale.

It's a cob coin, cut from a bar of silver to a specific (standard) weight.
That's its natural appearance, similar to when it came from the mint.
All cobs are different in shape; though the difference may be hard to see.
The dark features in the crown I believe are the 'voids'; the very light surrounding features would be the 'raised' features.
Don...

Congrats on the cob! :occasion14:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Woooo weeee.....that's nice. Great job congrats.

Mexico city produced cobs till 1733. Yours is probably not much older than that. Looks to be around 1 real size too and a nice one at that. All the ones Ive found are around 1 or half real size. The bigger cobs are a rare find indeed. Im still waiting for my first bigger Spanish silver.

Great ID Guys and thats an amazing coin holy moly

It was the last thing I expected to find today. We have found many buttons at this site and not much else. Moved searchbare today to a much trashier part and after many beer tabs I took a break to have a beer myself and get a break from the sand gnats. This coin was found 40 feet from the truck. Probably one of the last hunts for the year as turkey season will start next week and consume most of my free time for the next 50 days. Thank you for everyone’s help. This was definitely a “bucket lister”.!

That's a nice cob. If I get 1 a year I consider myself fortunate. Now I want turkey dinner...

That's a nice cob! Congrats
