So this is the only other artifact I pulled out of the site with the pewter spoon. It measures about 5" at the longest and 2" at the widest.

Any ideas?

I must have stumbled upon the epic battle site of two amazonian gnome tribes equipped with deadly pewter spoons.

Interesting. I found something very similar once. It was more complete than the piece you found and it looked to be an oil or gas lamp shade of some sort ???

Hammering like that is a affectation... associated with Arts and Crafts/Mission style.

Looks like somebody cut up a plate. In my folks' house we pulled up the carpet and found advertising signs covering stovepipe holes in the floors, and tin can lids nailed over mouse holes. :laughing9: I wonder what the copper got used for? :dontknow: :laughing7:
