Halloween maple pecan tart... ok its for anytime...

Tart
1 tbsp all purpose flour
refrigerated pastry for single crust 10inch pie
1 1/4 cups pecan halves
3/4 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/3 c corn syrup
1/3 c maple syrup
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp bourbon or whiskey (optional)
1 teasp vanilla

Topping
1 cup whipping cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tbsp bourbon or whiskey (optional)
candies and mini choc chips.



1) for tart preheat oven to 350 degrees. sprinkle flour over one side of the pastry. press pastry flour side down into the bottom up side of a 9 1/2/ inch tart pan. arrange peacn halves in concentric circles on pastry.

2) combine granulated sugar and eggs in a med. bowl whisky until well blended. stir in corn syrup maple syrup butter and bourbon. if desired and then add vanilla. mix well. carefully pour mixture over pecans coating well.

3) bake 30 min. or until golden brown and center is set. cool completely on wire rack.

$) for topping combine whipping cream powdered sugar and bourbon if desired in a food processor. whip 30 seconds or until thick. you can also use an electric mixer and whip until peaks form. form ghosts by dropping dollips of topping around the perimter of the tart and then dropping smalled dollips on top of the larger ones. decorate with candies and mini choc. chips to form eyes and mouth.

taking a sip or two of the bourbon is nice too ! but i cannot partake of the spirits so have an extra swig for me! LOL
