Shelbyville or any yard where the owner will let m
Detector(s) used
ace 250
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
A couple of weeks ago me and Fingergrime
was at a spot that he found on an old map
here in Shelby County and right off the bat
I had a great quarter signal and it turned out to
be a 1907 O Barber quarter in beautiful shape,
then not more than 10 feet away I got a dime
signal at about 6 inches, I started digging away
and just couldnt find the target, so i ran my Ace
over a lump of dirt and thats where the little
sucker had gone to.
I reached down and saw it was silver and without
looking at it handed it to Aaron and he said its a
seated dime, but after another look we both said
its a seated half dime, my first one ever.
Not in great shape, but it is a 1842 and im happy .
First pic is the Barber quarter, second is the front of
the half dime and the third is the back of the half dime

That's what I was thinking but it would be a Love Sick Token...may have been a kid trying to make one.

Nice research and recoveries...keep hitting that site.

That is what took me and Fingergrime(Aaron) by surprise
was the condition of the half dime and thats why we thought
it was a seated dime at first.

Aaron is a very determined reasearcher and I appreciate him taking
me to the spots he has researched and we always find some goodies.

"Good silver scores!
I'd be very happy diggin a Halfer, Congrats"
It really surprised me at the size of that baby, TINY !!!

"It's a shame it's beat to death like that, but it's still a nice score!"

We have to wait till the briars and stick tites die down before
we can go back, between those pesty things its hard to detect.

Congrats on your first, and certainly not last, half dime Al. You had a great hunt and seem to be on a coin roll-LOL. HH, Quindy.
