Hello everyone!
It took me almost 11 full months to hit my goal of 100 silver coins this year . . . . . today I did it! Silver coin #100! It's a little bitter-sweet ~ I was hoping to dig a real nice silver coin for my milestone . . . . . a few days ago I posted here on Tnet that I didn't want it to be some common date Rosie dime ~ I should have done some more praying to the treasure Gods. My silver coin #100 for 2008 is a cut 1953-D Rosie Dime!! I've never dug a cut silver coin like this in 15 years of detecting! I've found plenty of damaged silver coins, but none CUT in half!
I also dug a 1942-S War nickel and a reproduction of a Hessian Revolutionary War button (28 mm in Diameter). Plus a bowling lapel pin that reads, "250 - FAIRFIELD LANES - EUGENE". I assume it was given to someone that bowled a 250 in league play or in a bowling tournament. Fairfield Lanes is on Hwy 99 in Eugene Oregon. The name has changed to STRIKE CITY a few years back.
Thanks for looking!
