Half Cent, Infantry Button and "Stamped" Copper
Hello Everyone,
Been a while since we have posted any "Today's Finds" The weather this summer hasn't been the best and the finds have been a lot less than last year. DeArmitt Pa and I got out for a few hours at one of our old haunts. It's real tough hunting due to tons of wasted iron and modern junk in the ground but we got somewhat lucky. This place. if you get a "Tweet" on the E-Trac you better be digging paying NO attention to numbers. This Infantry Button that I found must have been walked over a dozen times. It's a "W.O. Mintzer Phild" 1859-1870" Not too far from that John dug and hollered "Half Cent" ! I was pretty excited for him. The front is better than the pic, just could get a good camera angle on it. A short while later he dug this "Stamped" Copper, I'm not sure why someone would do that, maybe the first step in making a die or boredom It's pretty cool larger than a large cent and you can see the backwards "ONE" and part of the wreath.
