Here's one of my recent finds...

Actually all my finds are recent :D

I've only been detecting for 60 days...

I dug this old gurl in the backyard of a house built around 1725 in Averill Park, NY.

I thought I was digging for a penny, when all of a sudden this horse-pill shaped tube popped out of the hole!

Like most items I dig up, I had know idea what it was ???

So I tossed it over to my hunting buddy, OutRaged.

He said "It has something inside!", then he carefully pryed it open to reveal the mother of all my finds ;D

After reading some recent posts on TNET I was lucky enough to find out the history of this pretty little item!

It would be so cool if this was an item dropped by a Civil War solider!!!

Thanx for looking,

I just found 3 of them yesterday. I found the small statues listed in the Civil War Collector's Price Guide Book 8th Edition
In poor condition they are work 30EA. and they fo up to 90 in good condition. Just thought you might like to know.

Holy Crap!!! (All pun intended ;) )

OutRaged told me that day that it was a killer find... although he wasn't sure of it's history.

To think that I was bummed about not finding any silver like OutRaged did that day :D

I guess mine would rate pretty high as far as condition, especially for being dug!

Thanx for sharin' man!

I have often thought you need a little religion in your life....Now you have it!! I love this lil statue

That is a great find. Nice job. Who knows how it got there. It would be real great if it was from the 1700's. I would definitley try to do more research on it if you can.

Welcome to the great hobby of metal detecting/treasure hunting.

Yeah, this find will keep me praying to the MD Gods ;D
