Sold a pyrex bowl and the lady left me a neutral because was dull. I guess she did not read the description:

The bowl has lost its shine from too harsh of cleaning, so there is no gloss left on the red paint, instead it has a rough feel to it.

So the ebay rep said she would remove the neutral, but while I had her on the phone I asked about a defect I picked up for an open case. I sold some headphones and a week later the guy said they stopped working so he wanted a refund. I said sure not going to beef it. Anyway he sends them back I refund him and am like screw it I don't want to deal with this. But since I was on the phone for the neutral I said what the heck. The first lady that removed my neutral said she would have to transfer me and she did to a US guy. We made a little chit chat and he got the defect removed from the open case defect.

So it is possible to get defects removed from open cases, but it looks like you will need to call up every time. Ebay really needs to fix that policy or they are gonna to get swamped with calls.

Oh and I heard something about ebay keeping Final Value Fees in the future on refunded items? I could not find anything about it except in a thread on the ebay community forums.
