I forgot to get a pic while it was going on but I took a couple before and after photos. Sale netted just over $1100 in 4 hours and I got rid of a whole bunch of stuff. Only 1 truckload left over to take to Goodwill. Yay!

A whole table of Imperial Candlewick before- and after-

What the heck were you selling to net $1,100 in just 4 hours?

The majority of it was old glassware and pottery. The only high dollar items were 2 Roseville Jardinieres and stands and a freezer and a couple bikes. 90% of everything was under $5. The pics don't do justice as they don't show the entire set up.

Was most of this just left over "junk" items you picked up at other garage sales?

good job on the sale.
is that jadeite fire king on the center table?
did you see any of your competitors at your sale?

diggummup, you think you did good today, I made a killing; over $1500, right down the block from you.

I guess it was do to a combination of the warm weather and the traffic your sale generated, I was able to sell "Ice Cold Ones", for $4.00 a pop :icon_thumright: :laughing7:

Great thread!

Been waiting to see your annual sale report. Congrats... Very inspirational!

If I had known, would of stopped by. I was running around in Davie and Plantation.
Got 2 sets of Jarts with the boxes $15 each. Couple of Zippos, Playboy + Largemouth Bass $3 each. Vintage Bordens Meadow Brand Malted Milk Tin $10
Shimano Sedona 4000FD Spinning reel with Bass Pro Shop Graphite pole $5.
Hope to meet up with you one day.

Yes and yes. I'll admit the jadeite is stuff that wasn't "perfect" enough to sell on ebay. Utensil marks and such. Competition was there, first hour most pf them showed up. Everyone of them bought something.

Probably already have if your in the Dade/Broward area and you do garage/estate sales regularly. :icon_thumright: I sold a bunch of old tins yesterday myself, I always buy Zippos even though I haven't smoked for years, last one was a Guy Harvey Dolphin. The jarts were a great deal and Shimano reels are always in demand. I went out this morning to a couple sales and found a stack of about 250 postcards for $1 (that's the price she gave me for the whole lot), about 20 of them are the souvenir fold out type, mostly chrome, a few linens. The Guantanamo Bay cards are the best of the lot. Good luck.

I wouldn't call it junk. But yes most of it was from prior estate/yard sales. My problem is I buy too many things. I have a tendency to buy in bulk, then I sell one or two pieces out of it, make a profit off the monies spent, then the rest ends up in a box, in storage. Many of the items I sold, I could have sold online but I would have to be a full time ebayer to do it and that's not me. This is a part time hobby for fun and profit. The best hobby anyone can have is one that can make you money, while you have fun doing it. If I would have started doing this when I was your age, who knows, it may have ended up as a full time career for me.

Geez, I thought I had alot of stuff! Glad to see you made a good chunk of change.

My thoughts exactly! Lol... I had a big sale with furniture and was excited about $350 and a 2 day sale... Lol

And what goodwill will you be going to? Lol. That rose colored glass stuff is so pretty.

this thread got me in trouble, now I am demanded to have a sale to clear all this stuff I bring home, it will fund our trip to Puerto Rico...I keep using the excuse of not enough table for me to set up on,lol

I bought all my tables from yard sales, lol. It's good to purge the excess once a year. 8-)

Nice job Diggum, thats a lot of beer money. Nice to make a mortgage payment in just a few hours! Did you sell the little stoneware looking pitcher on the corner of the black table in the second pic? I found one of those for a buck a few years ago marked Doulton Lambeth and sold it on ebay for almost $100. It was one of the first really nice scores I ever made yard saling, so they always catch my eye now. Congrats on the succesfull sale!

Yeah, if I drank still, i'd be swimming in beer. lol. Mortgage payment sounds good though. :icon_thumright:
If your talking about the Toby looking pitcher, no I didn't sell it. It's not Doulton though, just a wannabe. I kind of double checked current values on many items that I was unsure of, or maybe had for a while just to be sure I didn't let anything really good slip through the cracks. I did come across a nice (old mark) Fiesta ware yellow vase that should sell for around $150 or so though, that was a good save. It's just like these last two that sold- 10" vintage fiesta yellow vase | eBay
