Had my heart pounding

DFX
AT a local park I detected for the first time, I think it's pretty virgin, signals everywhere. Only had about 30 minutes to detect, found over $1.00 in clad, a clown pin. Then on the way back to the car I detect the gravel (always some goodies) an hit a constant 88 VDI on the DFX 3 inches deep. Dig about two inches ad get out the pinpointer, the thing screams. Carefully removing dirt, I see the gleam of a silver colored dollar size coin. Wasn't to be this time, I think it's a fantasy coin or something, but I really have no idea. Sorry for the pictures, only have my cellphone camera with me.

Any ideas?

Thanks as always,

In lieu of a better picture, I tried to draw on the details. The sides are all blobby, like it was crudely made, or intentionally crudely made:

Its a Spanish cob, 8 reale, shield type, Mexico Mint. Unfortunately it looks like a modern replica copy.
I will need to see better pics to be sure. Nice work on the drawings.

Here is a real solid siver Mexico mint cob to compare..

You nailed it. Just went and had a look at some pics. Thanks for the ID! I'm certain it's a replica, on closer inspection there is a line around the edge where the two halves were joined, I'm sure a real coin would not have that. Additionall, it doesn't feel like silver. Some other shiny, heavy metal.

Thanks bigcypresshunter!

That big Gold one is the exact same thing as I have, but mine is "silver." Awesome job. Heck, it's not every day someone finds bried Pirate Treasure, even if they WERE fake pirates.

ARRRRGH.

Thanks for the ID
