F75 LTD, 1280X Aquanaut, & a Patriot (back-up/loaner)
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I started the day going to an old permission and played around with AM mode on both my LRP and F75LTDSE. I hunted around for 30 minutes and did not find any good steady VDI targets. Instead of door knocking, I went to a clad honey hole. This place gave me my only 2 barbers, and 5 other silvers, but it is infested with clad. I have pulled over $200 out of this site in the past year. The hunt lasted for 4 hours. I hunted 1 hr. with the LRP and then went to the F75LTDSE for and hour. I then hunted the last 2 hrs with the LRP.

The top 5 rows of coins were detected with the F75LTDSE $3.25 in one hour Sensitivity 65, disc 1-25

The other 9 rows were detected using the LRP averaged $3.44 per hour. Sensitivity 9, disc 1-25

I did notice that I could detect closer to metal buildings and the metal fences using the LRP.

As always, hope ya'll got out and swung the coil :metaldetector: today.

How does that much clad get thrown out in this place? I would detect it too if this much clad. Incredible!

It's my go-to spot if I run out of producing permissions or they are not available. There were numerous hunts that I did not dig a plug unless it rang in as a quarter or better. The ole nail apron got real heavy those days. Averaged $5 to $6 an hour. Plenty of multiple coin plugs.

Really impressive hunt, LD. :notworthy:

I have noticed the same with the LRP getting close to chain link fences. I can get about a foot away before the machine acts up.

Did you hunt in AM the last two hrs as well or did you use a disc mode? How was your coin/treasure to trash ratio? I'm sure the F75 has that extra (20%?) kick, I never used one. But your hunt seemed to balance well between the two.

Been raining/flooding my way that past few days. Monday is supposed to be sunny.

I ran in disc mode all 4 hours at the cladfest. This place is about 400 yards long and 100 yards wide. The F75 is my prefered detector, but I just had to play with the new LRP. They are both very capable detectors. I used to love the F4 that I swung last season, but it had 2 short cummings. The GB did not transfer to disc mode, nor did the VDI display when in all metal. The cheaper LRP has ground grab and the VDI works in AM. It's an awesome detector for the price.

I would estimate that for the 108 good targets I might have dug 30 pieces of trash, but that's how it goes when you are hoping to find gold. If I was just looking for clad I believe I would have only dug about 10 trash targets.

Good luck and I hope you get out Monday
