Yesterday I went to a house that was built around 1920 that I recently received permission on. Unfortunately, I could tell that quite a bit of the yard had been landscaped or graded at some point. I concentrated on the areas that didn't appear to have been disturbed. (nice dark soil)

It was hot and dry but I manged to have a decent day. Got 11 wheats between 1936 and 1950's and a 1951 Rosie. Also found a few relics along with the coins. The highlights being a reigns guide (at least I think that's what it is), a cheapo ring, fob for an old power company and a military dog tag. The name on the tag is different from the people that lived there, but I'll still pass it along to the owner to see if he knows the family. Once we get some rain I'll go back and hit it again.

Fob from a power company that was started in the early 1900s.

Classy ring. "When do we eat" :laughing7:

Thanks for looking.

good job on the silver, love the reins guide, nice hunt!

Blade Runner,

Nice finds... I think the site you are at could easily be older than 1920. The thing at the bottom of your photo is a reed from a reed organ. The last time I found a seated dime (1876) I had found 4 of those reeds prior to finding that coin. Cool stuff!

Great finds! Congrats! Interesting ring!

Thanks for that info. I had always heard of a reed organ but didn't know what it was. Thanks!

Thanks! I couldn't remember what instrument it came from.

It's very possible there could have been something there before the house was built. There was also a store on the grounds at one point. But the area is now under a gravel parking area.

For those viewing this thread, are the pictures REALLY big? If so, I apologize.

Thanks for making the pictures so large, it really makes the finds "look" bigger. JK.

I like the watch fob form the power company and the reins guide. You got all sots of good stuff. Congrats brother!

Reviewing all three finds posts, you really had a fantastic site! Enjoy it.. they are few and far between. But the variety of finds you were able to save is just great.. WTG! and HH

Those organ reeds are often found but not many actually know what they are, they usually mean old spots!

Super hunt with lots of very cool artifacts, congrats. I found a burial record on a Hubert L. Siniard, may very well be your Korean War soldier. (note the T50 "Tetanus shot 1950" A for type A blood, and P for Protestant on the tag)

I also found Hubert O. Siniard, age 60, out of Harrison, Tennessee. Odds are that he is related to your veteran, in fact, he is the right age to be his son. The name is too unusual to not be related. It would be an awesome act to return the dog tag to a family member!

Best of Luck, Sub 8-)

Thank you! I will check into it. I'd love to be able to return it to the family.

ETA. And thanks for letting me know what the letters meant. I didn't know.

I thought that might be part of a rifle sight.

You had a very good day especially for as hot as it's been down here. Hunting is pretty much impossible for me. First I hunt mostly homes I get permission for and I won't / can't tell the homeowner they'll never know I was there. In a day the plugs would turn brown. And I just cannot handle the heat anymore.

Congratulations on the fun hunt!

You're right, it's hot and dry out there. If this was a home somebody was living in, I would have stopped after the first plug when I saw how dry it was. Right now, the house is being restored and the yard is already in pretty rough shape. Even still, I won't go back until we get some rain because it's not fun to dig in ground that dry.

BR SAYS HOME , HOME , HOME ON THE REIN WAIT RANGE.

Nice digs, I love that "when do we eat" ring!
