Got out to one of my old hunting spots that always seems to give up some nice coins and relics , no matter how many times I hunt here I still find stuff. Today I went over a patch of ground that was hunted before , so I turned the sens. all the way up , and disc. all the way down... and let my Quattro rip and listened for a good signal to bleed through all the rough signals.
It was slow at first but then some old china and the 1895 Indian Head popped up and it gave me a little interest to slow down even more. Then found a purse clasp in the shape of a horseshoe , then a silver thimble and an old picture frame.

The thing that I really find interesting is the old bridge with the tooth still attached ! AWesome , I havent seen one like this...I think it is made of pewter, it didnt quite I.D. as silver conductivity on my screen.(rung up at 30).... The tooth is very small.

I didnt want to go home without a silver coin so it took me another hour to find the 1872 Seated Dime.

HH!

I searched my old dental history books and current dental books, and can't find anything in the past that was made out of pewter. I suggest taking a closer look at it, because sometimes precious metals were used in metal partials in the past more often.

quite the day out

Great finds, Congrats!!!
Looks like a nice site to be hunting...
That picture frame thingy looks like it could be cleaned up and re-used...
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Way COOL finds Jim :occasion14:

Pays to slow it down and tune in to those deeper blips and beeps !! Amazing what even experts such as yourself can miss first few times !

I firmly believe in returning to old sites that produced ...just freezing and thawing can make all the difference and revel stuff :icon_sunny:

The dental item is really a different kinda find....poor soul that lost it musta been pretty upset ! I'd take it to a dentist ...maybe get a expert oppinion on how old it is !!

Congrats on some killler finds

Maybe an alloy was added to silver , like tin or antimony , to soften it up...Thanks Doc.
