I was helping a friend last week and we stopped at Habitat for Humanity store to look for kitchen counter top, and closet doors. As we were walking through the store I spotted some figurines on a shelf. Never thought I would see figurines in this type of store! Bent down and looked at them and was stunned, these were no ordinary figurines, but hummels. No price tags were on any of them so I ask one of the workers how much for the figurines. His comment "Oh I don't know, how does $2.00 each sound to you". I found a box to put them in and headed to the checkout $ 25.43 cents for 12 hummels. I also picked up the counter top and a microwave for an additional $25.00. Headed over to my friends apartments we were fixing up and two hours later got a call from the wife she keeps a close eye on our bank account, and wanted to know why I had spent money at Habitat for Humanity, I told her I needed stuff to fix up the apartments (she was not happy). So then I went home and gave them to her, hey made an outstanding birthday present to the wife, so I'm no longer in hot water with the wife!
Once I got home the research started, all of the hummels were from the 1940's and 50's. All were valued at over $100.00 each. All of them were in very good shape and only one had a very small chip!
I have added pics of the hummels, later down in this thread
