H J Heinz company needs no introduction -- they're practically a household name in condiments, and have been for over a century. This bottle is one of many they've produced over the years. It most likely originally contained horseradish, pickled onions, or other pickled goods. It was hand blown in the Heinz glass factory in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, between 1888 and 1895. It would have been sealed with a cork, then covered with a foil wrapper.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find very much information about it online, other than the production location and dates. It could have contained horseradish, or pickled onions, or a variety of other pickled goods. Heinz muddied the water further by producing several different bottle styles that also held these same condiments. It is possible that the "1" in the number "13" on the base is a weakly struck "7", but even if so, that wouldn't change anything, since "73" is another generic condiment bottle from that time period, and has the same lack of information as the #13 does.
I did find a lovely contest from 1893 that I wish I could have entered. The bottle style is just slightly different in the picture, but it's the same product, so here you go.
And finally, here is the before and after. Soap and water long soak and bottle brush cleaning.

* The value is a guess based on similar bottles from the Heinz company from that time period. I could not find an example of this exact bottle having been sold.
