I see more info was posted in Today's Finds. This one isn't listed in Pritchard's CO Tokens book nor is it listed on tokencatalog.com, so I'd encourage you to list it on the site.
John in the Great 208

Henry E. Abbott, Abbott Novelty Works, 131 Pine (1929-1931), 418 N Commercial (1935)

Is it ok if I post your image on the TokenCatalog website?

Did you find this token around Pine St, or Commercial? Did you find additional directory references?

Thanks,
Richard Greever, TokenCatalog.com

I found this Trinidad city directory from 1910-1911 that lists 638 Tillotson , and also 106 -108 Maple St.
The 638 Tillotson seems to be residential, Coincidently I found the token 2 blocks away, on 834 Tillotson st. I found two other tokens in the same yard, one I've been meaning to post.
Yes you may have permission to post this on your website.

Henry E Abbott was my Great Grand Father. Abbott Novelty Works was a Fix-it shop / Metal working. Henry also ran a cattle ranch. Here is a coupon I have for making keys. IMG_20150912_0001.jpg

I never saw the "coin" you found.

Great token, they have been redoing the streets and sidewalks in Trinidad. I think they are putting the old bricks back in. Wish I lived closer. I guess it's taking the workers forever. Under those old sidewalks is the best. Trinidad is so old for Colorado. Love the dog tags too. Maybe it's from my Grandpas dog!

Hey diggingthe1,
Do you think it's useless to detect where there tearing up the road?
Have you ever detected in Trinidad?

If the road used to be dirt, It's probably worth a look. If it was paved from day one.....not. The better parts of a road tearout are usually in the curb and sidewalk area. Even back then, people usually didn't goof around much in the middle of road.

I have found coins in the road up here in Victor. There are usually a lot more where the old wood boardwalks were. I figure they parked there wagons and dropped the change from off their laps like we do. I love detecting around Trinidad, I love the old coal camps, but haven't spent to much time in town. I used to live in Coakdale but was only into bottle digging back then. Sometimes the construction crews scrape down to just the right layer. Sometimes they scrape it away and then dump it in a nearby pile which can be good also. It would be fun to set up a hunt down there. Happy Hunting!!!!
