GW Inaugural Button?

Found this while visiting my sister in MD earlier this year. Measures 34mm round, 1mm thick and weighs 8 grams.

I was hoping a 1793/4 Large Cent at first, but once I got the dirt and grime off, I'm thinking button.

Maybe a GW inaugural button?

I don't see a match to any of the GW buttons. But it's still a very nice dandy button!

I found it close where I found one in 1996. I've hunted that area for years now, and it always seems to turn up something.

I believe if you do the reading you will find that any ornate button shown on the H. Cobb site as a "GW" is only considered that because it was on the same coat as other GW buttons. That is the case for the British Navy button there, and is why the prices are substantially lower than the marked buttons. So a designed button, even one that matches one on the site exactly, is just a designed button without the proper context. If that is not correct someone please feel free to correct me.
