Beachkid's picture of an open battery case prompted this question - How do you clean gunked up battery cases? I have a couple of high end items I've found at garage and estate sales that would bring some nice coin but for the usual battery case problem from old, leaking batteries. I have learned that you can use it as a bargaining chip, but I would really like to make some of these items work. I have the Radio Shack aerosol electronics cleaner but it doesn't seem to do much. I remember in the old days that we would pour Coke on car battery terminals and it would fizz-off the accumulation on the posts. Maybe Diet Coke on electronics? Any ideas? Thanks for any input!
