Looks like one to me. The one I have I dug and is rusted together. You have 2 screwdrivers and a nipple wrench on there. Someone will be able to tell you which rifle it's for...d2

Yes. I do believe that one actually is a gun tool. And to think I lived to see something described here as a "gun tool" actually be one in my lifetime. :D

It is a Model 1863 Rifled Musket Gun tool. The upper jaw is for replacement of the nipple and the joined double blades are for further disassembly. These were issued to each soldier and were carrid in a pouch on the cartridge box. Nice Find. I really like any thing weapons related.
