Gun Part?

Could anyone tell me what this is? It is something my dad found in the same area as the old 1800's percussion pistol I posted in another thread. He thinks it is some kind of hammer to a gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not a hammer. Nothing I recognize as a firearm part . . . for what that's worth.

Something with it for scale might help - a ruler or quarter usually work.

It kind of sort of looks like a wick swing arm on a matchlock firearm you could say, but I'm pretty sure its not that. It has a look of casted brass from Pakistan or India imo. I would say it is a part of something that would pivot. What ever it be I'm not hearing any bells ringing in my head this item. ???

Some sort of door latch or gate latch.
