Gun Hammer?

Dug this out on our front lawn - 4" deep . It is non magnetic . Any ideas ?

Looks like a trip cog or advance lever for some sort of gearing, similar in nature to the one shown in the photo.

I'll guess cap gun hammer. It looks way too cheaply made to be from a firearm.

Hi,I belive it is a cap gun hammer because it is
cheaply made, has a knurled thumb hammer and

broken piece from a points distributer maybe? ...the oval hole is for making an adjustment.

But DKW's link shows the same oval hole on toy gun hammers.

I ALSO WOULD SAY A TOY CAP GUN HAMMER SINCE IT IS NON MAGNETIC AND IS CHEAPLY MADE.ITS NOT A TRIP COG FOR A BOAT WINCH BECAUSE MOST OF THEM WOULD BE MAGNETIC.
