Looks like a trip cog or advance lever for some sort of gearing, similar in nature to the one shown in the photo.

Looks like it might be the trip cog for a boat winch.

Hi,I belive it is a cap gun hammer because it is
cheaply made, has a knurled thumb hammer and
the striker is flat. Jimbob

I think creskol and DFXScout (and Sniffer?), have got it,

plehbah cuts a little bit too close to reality for me to comment on Crazy Granny's Walking Sprinkling :icon_profileleft: :icon_profileright:

broken piece from a points distributer maybe? :-\...the oval hole is for making an adjustment.

But DKW's link shows the same oval hole on toy gun hammers. :icon_scratch:

Wow, DKW's link looks sort of convincing ;D

If it's a part for a gun it's not a hammer. Perhaps a part of the trigger mechanism or sear? Monty

I ALSO WOULD SAY A TOY CAP GUN HAMMER SINCE IT IS NON MAGNETIC AND IS CHEAPLY MADE.ITS NOT A TRIP COG FOR A BOAT WINCH BECAUSE MOST OF THEM WOULD BE MAGNETIC.
