Gun Deaths Among Young People at 30 Year Low

Well, this interesting fact that just came out last week has definitely gotten lost among the post Zimmerman trial debate.

According to USA Today, a recent CDC study has shown that homicides, including gun related homicides are at a 30 year low for people aged 10-24.

The rate of youth homicides has been steadily going down despite increased gun ownership by private citizens, an increased number of gun carry permits issued, and an increase in the number of states with “stand your ground” or “castle doctrine” laws.

This is an important statistic to keep in mind as the gun control debate is likely to shift gears from semi-auto rifles to self defense and concealed carry laws in the coming months.
According to USA Today,

The lower rate of youth homicide — those killed by other people — was true across all age, racial and ethnic youth groups, say the findings published in CDC’s “Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.”

The overall homicide rate in 2010 was 7.5 deaths per 100,000 people in that age group — the lowest rate since 1981. That translates to about 4,828 homicides in this age range.
“We were very pleased to see a promising decline that began in 1994 and has continued so that in 2010 we reached a 30-year low,” says the paper’s lead author, Corinne Ferdon, a behavioral scientist with the CDC.

I also hear that the cities that have gun bans are the ones with the most crimes...like giving criminals a free pass...they don't have to worry about you protecting yourself against them.

Ever stop to think. 100% of criminals support total gun control ...

Gun control is still just watching the front sight, and squeezing the trigger.

Sad how you'll never see reports like this in the liberal media . Truth doesn't sell . Sensationalism & crime does .

Even if some on the left were to read it they can never be convinced gun control is people control...
