Hard to make out from photos... See if you can get a photo of the front and back sides, kinda like what you got in photo #2.

umbrella tube? -- updated (now seeing new photos) nope, not that.
maybe a wiring tube for a boat's marker light?

It does not appear to be a steel, iron or bronze barrel but more like a zinc or white metal type. This is possible if it is to be used around the water so that there is no corrosion. It could be a barrel for a device used to shoot a small tie line or fish dart? The part that may be the front sight looks to be off center in the one photo, not good for any kind of shooting item. May be a cam lock type of system used to tighten down whatever the metal sleeve is to fit into.

Is it possible to check inside to see if there are any grooves or rifling in the tube?

Does look to be an umbrella tube, You can tell @ the end there that that piece was fitted on there. In other words it does not have that clean one piece gun barrel look... But there are some guns from the 1920s that can look similar like the 1920 Commercial DWM Luger in the 2nd photo that looks like a fitting @ the end of the barrel type look..

Looks like it's from a broken die cast toy cap gun.

That top flintlock pistol dates closer to the 1720's than it does the 1920's.

I was getting @ the top flintlock having a straight barrel with no end like type fitting on the 1920 DWM end of the barrel designs. Can you not see where the fitting was put on his artifact?

Yes, it looks like the front sight on the luger photo you posted, but not an exact match, and I don't know what model of pistol that would be off of, but I think I've seen that on an older Smith and Wesson revolver, but that's just faulty memory.
