I went through cataract surgery late in December and have been amazed at how my vision has improved. Today, while battling Indiana mud I dug a decent Indian at about six inches in the semi-frozen ground. I was pretty happy with that. I was trying out a new larger coil and it squeaked a little at the end of my swing. I glanced over that way and "saw" a tiny coin. It was wrapped up in the roots of a soybean plant. Even standing I could see that there was writing on it. I knew it was a coin. I wasn't sure what it was but leaned over and picked it up. Whoa, 1854 half dime with arrows. Only my second half dime and my first seated one. Wish I had put the coil over it and gotten some ideas of its signal but got excited. Not a bad January hunt in Indiana.
