The 2500 (as well as the 1500 and 1350 that I am aware) says it runs a 7.2 Freq signal. But it is also adjustable so that you can be on a different freq than your hunting buddie as well as other reasons. I don't know a lot about electronics. Does adjusting this actually change the signal freq of the detector? I've heard that a higher freq will not go as deep but conducts better to silver or other high conductive metals. So am I accomplishing this when I set the freq on the highest notch? lowest notch? Or does it not work like this at all?

Hey Texasgopher, I think you are talking about two different things. I think when you are changing the frequency, it is not changing the output frequency that you are hunting in. Trying to think of the best way to explain it. Like the explorer your hunting in a certain frequency, but if your getting interference you can hit noise cancal, and it changes the channel to where you dont get interference, but your still operating at the same frequency. Dont know if I made any sence but I tried. I bet sandman will be along this morning to answer your question better. And correct my mistakes. :tongue3:
