Gtax coil for beach hunting?

So i want to give my Gtax 550 as a gift for my father who has shown alot of interest in metal detecting lately. I think it will be a great MD to learn on,its great on dry land, and actually a joy to use, but my father spends alot of time at beaches and the Gtax as it is is totally inadequate for beach hunting. Dry sand seems ok, but most of the time if i try a beach with it, i have to pack it up and go home, frustrated.
So im wondering if there is a coil i could get that will make it more stable in the wet sand? Is it even possible to hunt the gtax 550 on the beach?
