We only had 1 day out this weekend, due to family commitments but we made it count.
We spent 5 hours finishing off the whole site. We also followed the breadcrumbs into the next field & got 7 Roman Coins, including the Ses. (So we will need to do more gridding over there next time)
The wind was cold but the hail/sleet wasn't so bad.

28 Roman Bronze Coins - 2 we needed: Sestertius of Postumus AD260 (Rare to get one from this period), & a Quintillus (only on the throne for 3 months)8-)8-)
Livery Button
Roman Pin Head
Roman Plate Brooch with Orange enamel, not the usual blue/red/yellow
1867 Threepence (OTWBTTC)
Hadrian Denarius AD122 (Need it & its one of the earliest coins from the site, not one we expected from the normal coin span of post-AD250s):icon_thumright:

Cru,

Congrats, looks like you two had an outstanding day. The Hadrian Denarius looks fantastic, almost if it was dropped yesterday. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

That is the weird thing it pre-dates the coin set by at least 100 years. Although there were a few early Brooches, so not sure if they were short of coinage in the early years...

Great day out, congrats on the keepers.

Cru..outstanding job here I’m voting BANNER on your very early Roman recovery stay safe out there

I don't even know what to say about your finds anymore, Cru! Beautiful coins! Congratulations! Again, thanks for sharing.

Good day again and still silver in the pocket! Very nice Hadrian! :icon_thumright:

awesome Romans. That Roman silver is outstanding

Cheers all,
It was a real good ending to a site that in previous years had only 1 silver.

Wow Crusader...You certainly made the most of your time! That's quite a collection of Roman coins. It's nice to hear that you were able to cross a couple of rare ones off your personal bucket list.
Congratulations!

Wow!! Great finds!!!!

It's almost comical that the Hadrian denarius is in better shape than the Queen Victoria 3 pence !
I know, they made quality items back then. I have a 2000 year old Fibula (Brooch) which the spring loaded pin still functions. Pretty sure any brooch pins we produce today wouldn't last long in a ploughed field.
