I could use a little help identifying this thing. I think it's a Grover Cleveland Presidential Token, but I don't know when or why it was issued.

The back is a little tough to read but it says:

Old Grover
Mayor of Buffalo
Governor of New York
Favored Tariff Reduction
Expanded Civil Service
Showed Keen Tact in his Foreign Policy
The Man of Destiny

There seems to be one or two other issues that I've found on the internet, but this one looks like this:

Bill, I checked that site but didn't see this particular coin. Do you see it somewhere?

No i just thought it was a place to start.
I`ll keep looking.
I do know good old Cleavland is supposed to be the only president to have two presidential coins minted with his name since his terms were not consecutive.

I have several. Thay are large and brass. I posted mine years ago on "what is it" and it was identified. Definitely a series. I will search for old post. Maybe 30s-50s. I dont remember. There are at least 3 different series.

Boy... stressing my memory and trying to think WAY back, I sort of recall that the Franklin Mint issued a set but I think they would have been brass. I think mine is copper and/or bronze.

Bob i just found out grover died June 24th 1908 from heart failure.

He might have been advertising his 3rd presidency with that token.

I think thats the same 60's brass set with date on bottom ending with LBJ. Your set has date on top.

Try searching "Presidents Game." Shell also had an aluminum set and Amoco maybe.

Thanks... I saw the one from Shell. Heck, back in the 50's and 60's they were probably putting them in laundry detergent, cereal boxes and maybe even cracker jacks, to mention a few.

I kind of doubt it. I don't think a president can serve more than two terms (although I think there was an exception, like Franklin Roosevelt).

I think you're right, but do you know when the set was issued/minted?
