Group Battlefield hunt question

Hi everyone,
I've noticed on some youtube video's that there are groups of people that get to hunt in Civil War sites.
Do you have to belong to a club to get invited? I would love to hunt a Civil War site someday, just wondering if there are special groups or can you sign up for a special event like this.

No that is illegal. What they are doing is they asked permission from the land owner who own property that was once the battlefield. I have done that about 10 times. But, i sadly missed out on something. One day, the local battle field invited the local MDing club to come detect for a day. I was out of town sadly. Wouldve been awesome!
