I got out for a couple of hours Thursday evening and scored an 1875 IHP in a cornfield that coughed up half a dozen large cents and more IHPs than that last year. It's in rough shape, but you can make out the 187 and the top of the 5. This is one of the rare cases where I could see the date better BEFORE I used the Andres pencils on it. Some of the crust flaked off and made the 5 harder to see. I got two 1875s last year and my first coin this year was another. Amazing, considering I only found one in the previous 50 years.

Today I got out for a couple more hours and scored an 1881 IHP and three zinc pennies in an old house yard. This one is in fair shape, but I have much better 1881s I have found.

Congrats on the Indian's !
Springs just about here - good to see you could get out.

Welcome back Mr Custer :) LOL Nice job Ron !!!

Nice find! I have my detector on charge for a run tomorrow or Monday after the rain. I see in your description that you found 151 IHP's in one spot. Thats crazy, can I ask what type of spot? Been detecting for 17 years and have only found a handful usually toasted. Just retired so will have much more time.
