I made a ground probing rod and experimented with it on the edge of an unpicked bean field. I wanted to get used to the practice so I can hit key spots after harvest. The sand is so hard that I bent the probe tip many times. I visually found a small flint flake and found this rock with the probe. It’s not an artifact, but there was some satisfaction just finding it with the probe method. I can’t wait for the harvest now.👍🏼

Nice igneous rock. Looks like andesite. What are you probing for when the beans are in?
I own the unplanted field edge. I found a lot of flakes and 2 blades within the last year. I practiced on my ground. I have permission for the field, once the beans are out.
The rock I found has decent iron content and looks to have some feldspar “flash” to it. I’ll have to investigate andesite. I’m not sure how to ID it yet. Thanks
