grooved stone with hole

I spent the weekend in Miami. Sunday night my girlfriend and I are walking along South beach and this washed up in surf in front of us. Its grooved on both sides and has a hole in it. Please help identify what this might have been used for.

If it washed up on South Beach it is probably just an Ocean Worn stone with a hole in it.

It looks like a net weight to me, nice find. HH
