Grooved adze in dried-up cobble bar

I'd say it's a water worn piece and not altered by man. Darn good pics. I love the one of the dam.
 

Sorry not seeing ax, looks like water erosion.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Manmade or naturally eroded, I can't help but feel a tingle of excitement go through me whenever I spot a rock with these familiar features in or along the water. I don't post or take pictures of everything I bothed bringing home, though here a few other stones found along the same stretch that all sorta tie-in nicely together on a shelf (and another picture of said river upstream). Thanks again for any and all opinions and compliments. The alregion here has practically no archaeological record given its long history of logging and farming which were foremost prioritized from the onset of the settler and land grant days. Looking forward to reporting on another find hopefully soon in the future!
