Hello to all!! Great forum!! Really from Panama (Canal Zone) but living and hunting this MD scarce island. Hit me up with any questions about the island (kinda familiar) or Panama (very familiar) and I'll try to help or at least steer you in the right direction. Good hunting to all!!

Welcome from florida.

cake and pasta amigo ... used to visit san juan all the time on the merchant ships . --hear there are some strict rules on water mding / wreck salvage but not so familiar with shoreside MDing and beach MDing near the high dollar casino type hotels

Thanks to all. I'm actually a mariner myself Ivan. As for Puerto Rico, yes there are some strict rules but they are the same rules you would expect to find state side. Here you would stay away from MDing on national parks just as you would in any other state. They are run here also by the U.S. Park Service making md a federal offence. So no "El Morro" hunting or any other designated N.P.S. Spanish forts for me. I'm not sure about ship wrecks but one can only assume there might be laws in place there too. But I'm not a diver so I won't be putting on a led belt with md in hand anytime soon. Now for beaches and other locations, they are fair game using some common since of course.

Welcome, I have never been to Puerto Rico but would love to visit. Plenty of great beach metal detecting for sure! Good Luck!3

Yup, approximately 300 beaches to be exact. Some within a 10 minute drive from me and all the rest within 30 minutes and the furthest beaches just 2 hours away. Hope you make it over some day.
