Hey everyone,

These are the few marbles that I have found while bottle digging. I don't know much about them. I was wondering if you could identify any of these, and maybe provide values for the good ones, if any?

Thanks for your help!

Hello John!

Nice old marbles! I love bottle digging, I need to go again soon... got a great spot and I never go.

The swirly smaller ones are West Virginia swirls.. not a lot of value but old... 20s-40s or so.
There is a cateye in there with little value
The speckled clear one in the center might be a german mica... need closer pics to tell. If so it might be worth a few bucks.
The nice swirled one down towards the bottom is a German handmade. Need better pics to get a precise value but I would guess 20-30 bucks.
The clays are old but common, not much value.
The big blue one... you sure you didn't add that one to the bunch? It looks like a new Vacor serpent. If it came from a bottle dig, take closer pics showing different angles so I can tell more about it.

Thanks for the response!

It's funny you say that about the big blue one, because I found this one kind of outside a trash pit, not quite right in it, but there were plenty of other old things not right in the pit that were lying around. I thought maybe it was a Peltier Superman or Rainbo or whatever. That's what I thought when I compared it to the ones I saw on Google anyway. It does have more yellow than what you see here, but now I'm waiting for my batteries to charge a bit to get a better picture for you, better pics of the potential 'mica' as well. I'll chime in as soon as possible.

Thanks again!

Alright cheese, here are a whole bunch of pictures, mostly of the blue marble in question. I just noticed the speckled one has a very faint dark purple or black swirl on the inside, maybe accidental. And the last one is the pontiled one, it's pretty beat up, worthless? It's still my oldest glass marble and from one of my most memorable digs, so I love it regardless.

Thanks again for any info!

Oh, I see now... the speckled one is a modern frit marble. The big blue one is also modern, a Vacor serpent like I suspected. The old German one is cool no matter the damage. People are a little more forgiving of damage on the old German handmades. That one has some damage but it's not worthless. Gotta be fun finding that in the dirt though! Thanks for posting them, hope you find some more!

Awesome, thanks for the info, cheese!

I've gotta say, I'm a fan of the West Virginia swirls! I know a place that produces a lot of them, most of the ones I have here, so I'll hit that spot when the weather gets better and I'll make sure to share what I find with you!

Thanks again!

I'm curious about that white marble with the red patch (second row down from top). From the pic it appears there is possibly more red on the top of the marble (or is it just a shadow?) If it does have red on the top, would love to see a few more pics of that one if you have the chance. (I'm not saying it is anything of value, but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what it is!)

Diggumup... tumbling marbles takes the "round" out of them. They either end up looking like those dice with a whole bunch of sides (ball with flat spots all over) or football shaped. Some people polish marbles but it takes most of the value away from them.

Hey there Moxie, here is the red and white one. It also has a faint green band on the white side.
