Came across this community whilst researching how to build prospecting equipment, as we don't have blue bowls, sluices, etc for sale in the 3rd world.

Welcome aboard.....which part of South Africa are you from.

I had quite a few contacts from SA over the years on another forum and they made some great finds both on the beach and at Boer War sites.

Indeed, we have the dubious honor of being the shark capital of the world. (check out shark alley Cape Town). I live in the north west province of South Africa, some 1000 kilometers north of the sharks, so I am ok!

Hats off to the USMC, Reaper, "Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome", an unofficial motto applicable to prospecting in Africa!

Hey Reaper,
I am former South African military. Had the honor of working with specialists from the states back in the '80's during the Angolan conflict. Seems neither of our respective countries were meant to be there, but wadda ya know....?

Anyhow, I like keeping abreast of developments regarding the American war machine. It is after all the most formidable force on the planet, (...well, technically, in space too....)
