Im a new/old treasure hunter living in southern california. ive been metal detecting for about 10 years, but pretty-much on again - off again type of hunter. My new position at my job has me looking at more free-time on the weekends so now i want to spend more time metal detecting and general treasure hunting. I love metal detecting (older Tesero B2 uMax) and am looking forward to getting caught up on all the new kinds/models of metal detector on the market. Another hobby I love to do is treasure research. I am a very research-orineted person and find the research is just as rewarding (and fun, lets not forget fun), as the actual find. Currently im getting back into treasure hunting / metal detecting after a couple of years of off time. It appears alot has happened in the terms of new detectors and new models of the old standards, ive got some research to do on the new equipment. Although my B2 umax can be a bit flakey sometimes it still works (for me) just fine. My younger daughter (12 years old) is making some noise about wanted to try one of the new Ace models (garrett i believe) so it looks like we will be making a new purchase soon.
