Howdy all,

I had a detector about 15 years ago (Tesoro Bandito II) and loved it. That little machine paid for itself the first summer I had it.

Well, the kids needed to eat or some silly thing and I sold my favorite toy. Looking to get back into the hobby. I have moved back to my hometown where I know of lots of old homesites, cabin sites, churches, schools, etc.. Most have probably been hit a time or two, but being pretty rural and in a small town, there are a couple that may have remained hidden from the masses.

Hoping to score a good detector at a yard sale soon and get swinging once more.

Welcome to the forum from Massachusetts!

Welcome Aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Oregon for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Bilder, welcome from Salem. Some wonderful history in Coos County. There is a book, "Can't You Hear the Whistle Blowin'," that is packed with historic photos of the logging and coal trains in Coos County. Lots of great clues there!

Welcome aboard :icon_thumright:

Thanks for the welcome.

Sitting here on my front porch browsing the forum and who walks by....a young man swinging a Tesoro Lobo. Had a nice chat with him and shared some places to try. He is rather new to the area and was greatful for the tips. He was detecting the grass strip between the sidewalk and the street. He found a few 60's pennies while he was walking by. Makes me wonder what is in my yard. House was built in 1913 and as far as anyone knows, the yard has never been hit with a detector.

If I cannot locate a decent used model in a few weeks I will break down and buy a new one and get swinging. :)

Bilder, our Craftsman in Medford was built in 1914. I went over it years ago with an older detector. Found a few mercs, many wheats and a couple of buffalos. I'm sure I left a LOT of targets. You'll have some fun in your yard, promise!

Welcome to the TreasureNet. Machines have changed in 15 years, you're going to like them. Careful though, what at one time may have been a hobby, might now become an obsession, and a rather good one.

Welcome to Tnet from Virginia! Hope you find a detector soon and get to do some swinging! Good Luck!

Welcome from CT!!
